Section # 12

(2) Guides one in a study with a one-on-one study in teaching the Plan of Salvation to an individual. Men or Women have used this.

* This is to assume that you have set a time to study with a person in a one-on-one setting. If you can take another person with you it can be very helpful. They may be able to play with children, help the student to find scriptures etc.

* If you have another Bible, but not with references in it, that is exactly like your Study Bible you may wish to take it along with you. If the student doesn't have a bible or they have a hard time finding the scriptures you can use the page numbers to assist them.

* Always let them do the reading of the Scriptures.

* After you are prepared to start the study, ask them if they have ever baptized. Don't discuss this at this time though. On a clean sheet of paper, write their comments at the top. You will want to refer to these notes later. Have several sheets of paper with you. When you need to make a visual sketch etc. Do this on the paper and leave it with them. You keep the 1st one however.

* The 1st section is called "Dividing the Word". This just means that you are about to discuss the difference between the OLD LAW and the NEW LAW (Christ's Law).

* The facts below may help you to explain this to the student better. The fact that there are (3) dispensations (divisions) recorded in the Bible can clear up many questions that a student may have.

a. Patriarchal Age.... From Adam to Moses......God's law was given to
Fathers

b. Mosical Age..........From Moses to Christ.....God's law was given to
Moses on Mt Sinai

c. Christian Age........Began when Christ died on the Cross

Each of these ages put aside the previous law that was given by God. According to Romans 15:4 all scripture is given for our learning, but this doesn't mean that we are under all of the laws in the whole Bible.
When we study the Bible we must determine who a commandment was given to, in what AGE it was given, and if it applies to us today.

* Then you go to the top of the page in your Study Bible and ask the student the questions you have written down.

* Ask the student to go to the next reference that you have noted in your margin on this first page. You also turn there. You will continue like this throughout the study.

* Answer any questions on the present subject but try to stick to that subject. If other questions come up just ask if you can hold that question until you get to it a little later.
